Hi everyone. I’ve been reading through the docs and the forum, trying to wrap my head around the best path for our small team (just three of us, all wearing multiple hats).

We're setting up our first proper monitoring/security agent setup with Open Claw, and the big question right now is whether to self-host the agent runtime or just use the vendor-hosted option. I know this is about risk tradeoffs, but for us, I think it boils down to where we're most likely to mess things up.

On one hand, if we self-host, we're responsible for the server, updates, networking, and making sure it's actually secure. I'm not a Linux guru (yet!), so the idea of accidentally leaving something exposed because I misconfigured a firewall or forgot to update is pretty scary. 😅

But then, if we use the vendor-hosted infrastructure, we're handing over a lot of control. What if *their* config has a problem we can't see or fix? We also have some data residency stuff to think about, nothing major, but it adds a layer of worry.

So, for a small team with limited dedicated ops time, is the bigger risk us messing up our own self-hosted setup, or is it the potential blind spots and shared responsibility of using a vendor? I'd love to hear from others who started small. What felt like the bigger burden, or the more likely point of failure?
